General FAQ

What is Powerdrill Bloom?

Powerdrill Bloom is an AI-first data exploration and visualization tool that helps you quickly transform raw data into actionable insights, graphs, and presentation-ready reports—without requiring coding or advanced technical skills. It introduces an AI Exploration Canvas, where multiple AI agents work together to handle tasks such as data cleaning, anomaly detection, trend discovery, and automated visualization. This allows business users, marketers, analysts, and decision-makers to not only analyze data faster but also uncover hidden patterns and export results directly into shareable formats like PowerPoint, making Bloom a comprehensive solution for modern, insight-driven workflows.

Why it matters / Why it's different
Unlike traditional BI tools that often demand complex setup and advanced knowledge, Bloom is designed to be intuitive and accessible. Its multi-agent AI system takes care of repetitive tasks in the background, so users can focus on making decisions rather than processing data. Bloom also bridges the gap between analysis and communication—by providing instant graphs, guided insights, and one-click presentation exports, it empowers teams to move seamlessly from raw data to executive-ready reports in a fraction of the time.

What are AI data agents in Bloom?

In Powerdrill Bloom, AI data agents are specialized virtual assistants that collaborate to manage different parts of the data analysis workflow. Each agent is designed with a distinct role, mimicking how a real data team operates—so you can get reliable, end-to-end insights without needing multiple human experts.

AI Data Agent team
  • Eric – Data Engineer
Cleans, transforms, and delivers data efficiently and reliably, ensuring datasets are well-prepared for analysis.

  • Anna – Data Analyst
Translates messy or unclear questions into structured data tasks and extracts insights that matter most to decision-making.

  • Derek – Data Detective
Searches the open web for valuable external data, connects different sources, and highlights patterns or relationships that may be overlooked.

  • Victor – Data Verifier
Validates data and logic, ensuring there are no errors, false leads, or inconsistencies—providing you with trustworthy results.

Why it matters / Why it's different

Traditional BI platforms often require you to act as the engineer, analyst, and validator all at once. Bloom’s multi-agent AI system distributes these responsibilities across specialized agents, making the process faster, more accurate, and less error-prone. This approach not only improves trust in the outputs but also allows non-technical users to benefit from expert-level data handling, all inside one platform.

Is Bloom free to use?

Powerdrill Bloom is currently in beta and requires users to join the waitlist. Once approved, you'll get free access to the full set of Bloom's features during the beta period.

You can read this doc for more details.

Can I use Bloom without uploading a file?

Yes—you can start using Bloom even without uploading a dataset. When you first enter Bloom, simply choose the option "Start from a topic." From there, you can type in any area of interest—such as customer behavior trends, AI in education, or market growth in 2025—and click Start Research. Bloom will then explore the topic, generate structured insights, and present visualizations to guide your analysis, just like it does with uploaded files.

This makes Bloom flexible for both data-driven exploration and idea-driven research, allowing you to uncover insights even before you have your own dataset ready.

Do I need technical or data skills to use Bloom?

No—you don't need technical or data skills to use Powerdrill Bloom. Once you upload your dataset (Excel, CSV, TSV, etc.), Bloom automatically analyzes the file's metadata to understand its structure and context. Based on this, it identifies the most relevant analytical domains (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) and proactively generates insights and visualizations without requiring any manual setup.

At the same time, users can also interact with Bloom directly by asking questions in natural language. For example, you could type "Show me the top products by revenue" or "What's the customer retention trend this year?", and Bloom will instantly generate the corresponding charts and explanations.

What types of data can I upload to Bloom?

Bloom supports common formats like Excel (.xlsx), CSV, and TSV files and PDF. Just upload your spreadsheet, and the AI agents will take care of the rest.

Is my data secure when using Bloom?

Yes, your data is protected with multiple layers of security. Powerdrill Bloom follows strict privacy and security standards to safeguard your information, including measures to prevent data loss or leakage. Our Privacy Notice outlines how your data is handled, and you can learn more about our security practices by visiting the Trust Center.
